Readers: Books and Conversation with Vicki Hastrich

Vicki Hastrich joined us at the Petersham Bowling Club for our October Readers: Books and Conversation event. We spoke about her latest book, The Last Days of Zane Grey in which she vividly brings to life American author, inventor of the western genre, filmmaker and big game fisherman. While there are many books about Grey’s large life and legacy, none focus on his two trips to Australia. With her deft observations, Vicki took everyone into Zane’s love of the ocean and nature, his astute way of seeing people, as well as the fascinating social history of Australia in small towns during the 1930s.
