Natasha Lester Literary Lunch
Natasha Lester is a much loved and highly admired Australian writer of historical fiction with 8 novels already to her name. Her latest, The Mademoiselle Alliance, brings Marie-Madeleine Fourcade to life. Fourcade was the only women to lead a resistance unit during World War II. At its height, she was responsible for 3000 agents in France who were all working in dangerous and ingenious ways to gather information that would help the Allies defeat the Nazis. The novel is brilliantly researched and brings to life details of ordinary people during the war.
We spoke about the courage and accomplishments of Marie-Madeleine Fourcade, what she inspired in the people around her and the extraordinary feats she pulled off. Natasha offered insights, historical details and stories that will stay with me (and the audience at the sold out Dymocks Literary Lunch) for a long time to come.
