In this monthly series at the Petersham Bowling Club (READERS - Books and Conversations), I have the pleasure of interviewing authors not just about their latest book but also their writing processes, their inspiration, and their body of work.

Joining me for this instalment was Jodi McAlister. Jodi is called Australia's leading romance expert and is the author of romantic fiction for adults and young adults, as well as being an academic. Her academic work focuses on the history of love, sex, women and girls, popular culture and fiction. She spoke with me about her latest rom-com novels that take place on the set of a reality tv show during covid where contestants can never leave, even after they're eliminated! We chatted about her great writing, how romance novels have changed & why we love reading about love.
