Jodi Wilson Book Tour
Jodi Wilson’s new book - A Brain the Breathes: Essential Habits for an overwhelming world - could not be more timely. At the heart of this book is the question Jodi poses ‘what does it mean to be human in a modern world, and how can we nurture our biological needs and naturally processes?’
What sets this book apart is the scientific framework and research around these ideas. Jodi spoke about what humans need to live well, the idea of breathing space for the brain as well as for the body and in everyday life, in praise of being bored and letting ourselves rest.
We also discussed pausing and rethinking our relationship to time (and rushing). Jodi poses central questions and builds on them throughout the book. Questions like ‘What do I need’, ‘What else is there?’ and ‘why’. They’re like lights that get turned out throughout the book.
It was a joy to learn from her and hear her and to share the ideas in front of a sold out crowd at the beautiful Constant Reader Bookshop run by Danica in Sydney.
