Room To Read: Sydney Gala
It was wonderful to join Room to Read Australia for the second year in a row as the MC of their annual Fundraising Gala night at the Eveleigh. Room to Read was founded in 2000 on the belief that World Change Starts with Educated Children. Their goal is creating a world free from illiteracy and gender inequality.
Room to Read have teams of educators all over the world to work on educational programs that are tailored to girls and children in specific areas, across diverse languages and culture, to support education, literacy, and girls' education.
This year they had special appearances from some of their International Room to Read colleagues including Collins Munene, who is Room to Read Director for Africa, Jacqueline Pezzillo who is Vice President, Marketing and Communications at Room to Read and Laurie McMahon, Room to Read’s Chief Development and Communications Officer. They inspired the attendees with more detailed information about the work of Room to Read and their achievements. It was a privilege to be part of the evening and to help encourage attendees to support education and literacy.
